Remote Alaska Fly Fishing Lodge on the Hoodoo River
The Hoodoo River is one of Alaska’s final untouched sport fishing destinations. And one of the very few rivers suitable for Fly Fishing the mighty Alaska King Salmon.
The Alaska Peninsula is a land of towering mountains, active volcanoes, broad valleys, fjords, tundra and glacially formed lakes. It is here where the Hoodoo Lodge calls home. Located on the northern side of the Alaska Peninsula, Hoodoo Lodge is surrounded by the Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge and Alaska Native Land, the Hoodoo Lodge sits on the only private owned land on the Hoodoo River. Because of her remoteness and access the Hoodoo has remained one of Alaska’s truly remote fisheries. You will find no other lodges, anglers, or competition for prime water on the Hoodoo - something that is becoming a rarity with so called remote Alaska fly-in fisheries. The Hoodoo Lodge is a remote adventure destination that combines luxury accommodations in some of Alaska’s best world-class sport and fly-fishing.
The Hoodoo runs from its headwaters at Hoodoo Lake thirty-five miles to the Bering Sea. The locals call the lake "Hoodoo" hence the name of our lodge. The lodge sits approximately ten miles from the ocean. The fishing is literally in our back yard. There is no need to fly to find fish at the Hoodoo Lodge. The Hoodoo River has one of the best runs of ocean bright Chinook (King), Sockeye (Red), and Coho (Silver) salmon. There is also abundant local Rainbow trout and ocean-run Steelhead populations. We have fished the fall run of steelhead and the fishery looks very promising. The Hoodoo River offers some of the most remote steelhead fishing in North America.
We invite you to escape to our well-appointed lodge in the middle of Alaska’s Wild Frontier and experience Hoodoo’s comfortable accommodations, where you can indulge in deluxe meals, and experience some of our great Alaskan hospitality. Untouched before Hoodoo Sport Fishing the Hoodoo River is one of Alaska’s truly remote sport fishing destinations.

The Fly Shop - Trip Report
By Mike Mercer

Even in Alaska, finding a “new” stream is almost unheard of, and from the snippets of fishing reports I’d received from those first adventurous anglers, this one had remarkable potential. I was pumped! ...Read More
